Elevenses is a brilliant British tradition that takes place mid-morning, around 11 a.m. It offers a refreshing break from the morning's activities, often enjoyed with a cup of tea and a light snack. Common treats include biscuits, scones, or pastries, providing a perfect opportunity to relax and recharge. This charming ritual not only nourishes the body but also encourages social interaction, making it a cherished part of the day. Mind you, breakfast has already been served and enjoyed, and lunch will follow soon. I can hardly wait!

Traditional Afternoon Teatime is a delightful British custom that typically takes place between 3 PM and 5 PM. It involves a light pick me up served with tea, featuring an assortment of delicate sandwiches, scones with clotted cream and jam, and a variety of pastries and cakes. The experience is often enjoyed in a serene setting, accompanied by the gentle clinking of China and lively conversation, making it a perfect opportunity to relax and savor the moment. This charming ritual blends elegance with comfort, inviting everyone to pause and indulge in a little luxury. Thank goodness for Afternoon Tea, it's been a few hours since lunch and High Tea (supper) isn't for an hour or two.

Sunday Dinner Roast or Pub?

High Tea, often enjoyed between 5-7 PM, is a delightful way to unwind after a long day. This evening tea typically includes heartier fare than its afternoon counterpart, featuring a selection of savory dishes like quiches, meat pies, and robust sandwiches alongside sweet treats. Served with a variety of teas, it creates a cozy atmosphere for friends and family to gather and share stories. It's the perfect way to transition from the hustle to a relaxing evening. Hopefully I don't need a night cap. 

A traditional British Sunday dinner typically features a hearty roast, often beef, chicken, or lamb, served with crispy Yorkshire puddings, fluffy roast potatoes, and an array of seasonal vegetables. The is usually accompanied by rich gravy, making it a comforting and satisfying experience. To complement this feast, a pot of freshly brewed tea is served, offering the perfect end to the week. This gathering is not just about the food; it's a cherished time for family and friends to come together and enjoy each other's company. Our, when no one is up for cooking, it's Pub time. Anyone for fish n chips?
